“God’s Word Will Guide You”

Today’s Scripture

“God means what He says. What He says goes. His powerful Word is sharp as a surgeon’s scalpel, cutting through everything, whether doubt or defense, laying us open to listen and obey. Nothing and no one is impervious to God’s Word. We can’t get away from it – no matter what.” (Hebrews 4:12-13 The Message)

Today’s Thought

I recall reading where missionary, Dr. David Livingstone, started his trek across Africa. He had 73 books in 3 packs, weighing 180 pounds. After the party had gone 300 miles, Livingstone was obliged to throw away some of the books because of the fatigue of those carrying his baggage. As he continued on his journey his library grew less and less, until he had but one book left – his Bible.

God has not left us in the dark. He has given to us His Word that lights the darkest night and gives hope in the bleakest circumstance.

It is through God’s Word that He directs us, challenges us, warns us, comforts us and assures us that He is working on our behalf. The Holy Bible is more than just wise sayings and wonderful stories. The Holy Bible is God’s love letter to us. It is through the scriptures that our heart is able to get in sync with God’s heart.

You may be facing a difficult time today and you need a now word from God. A word that will lift your spirit and give you the strength to tackle a new day. There is only one book that reveals the nature of God and His ways and that one book is the Holy Bible. It is the compass for your spiritual journey.

Today’s Quote

“The better we know God – the more intimate our fellowship is with Him – the more we will trust Him to do what He has said He will do.”
–Charles Stanley

Happy Independence Day!

I pray you and your family have a happy and wonderful July 4th Holiday!  What a blessing to live in the United States of America.  God bless America!

A Thankful Husband and Dad

It was 10 years ago today (June 22) that my wife and I repeated our vows one to another.  What a blessing she is to me and the ministry.  I could not do what I do without her love and support.  Wendy I love you and thank you for being my wife.

In addition, it was almost 2 years ago (tomorrow June 23rd to be exact) that our little girl London was born.  As any parent will share what an amazing miracle and blessing a child is.  Wendy and I are so thankful for his blessings upon our life.  Everyone of us have so much to be thankful for.

I just wanted to write and say today, Happy Anniversary to my wife of 10 years and Happy Birthday to our little girl London!

God Given Currency

TODAY’S SCRITPURE:

“Yet you do not know [the least thing] about what may happen tomorrow.  What is the nature of your life?  You are [really] but a wisp of vapor (a puff of smoke, a mist) that is visible for a little while and then disappears [into thin air].”  (James 4:14 Amplified)

TODAY’S THOUGHT:

How do you spend your time? Are you working, relaxing, watching television or reading a book? Let me go one step further; with the time that you have available, how much time do you spend with the Lord?

Time is perhaps our most basic resource, but how you use God’s gift of time has a profound affect not only on your life, but also in the lives of others. God has given you a currency on earth and that currency is called time. You are given 24 hours in a day and how you decide to spend your time is ultimately your decision.

I recently read the following quote from an unknown source, “We master our minutes, or we become slaves to them; we use time, or time uses us.” With this God given currency you have to invest it wisely. Unfortunately, many people do not value the time that God has so graciously given. You cannot save time, carry over time, or acquire more time. Each day is a new day and how you decide to use those 24 hours is your decision. Today decide to use your time wisely. Go ahead, time is ticking.

TODAY’S QUOTE:

“The clock belongs to Christ, and each tick summons us to surrender every second to the glory of His name.”   —Calvin Miller

The Old Rugged Cross

TODAY’S SCRIPTUE:

“For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.” (1 Corinthians 1:18)

TODAY’S THOUGHT:

“If you were to look at Rembrandt’s painting of The Three Crosses, your attention would be drawn first to the center cross on which Jesus died. Then as you would look at the crowd gathered around the foot of that cross, you’d be impressed by the various facial expressions and actions of the people involved in the awful crime of crucifying the Son of God. Finally, your eyes would drift to the edge of the painting and catch sight of another figure, almost hidden in the shadows. Art critics say this is a representation of Rembrandt himself, for he recognized that by his sins he helped nail Jesus to the cross.”

The Bible tells us in Romans 3:23 that all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God. Not one of us is perfect. Humanity has been infected with the curse of sin, but 2,000 years ago Jesus Christ came to this earth and lived a perfect life. Jesus became the sacrificial lamb of God who would take away the sins of the world.

The blood of Jesus Christ is the antidote, the cure, for the poison of sin. It is through the sacrifice of Jesus that we have victory over sin and the promise of eternal life in the Kingdom of Heaven.

Today if you have not accepted Jesus Christ as your personal Savior I invite you to pray and ask Jesus to forgive you of your sins and allow Him to be the Lord of your life. The price has been paid. It’s a free gift. Receive Him today!

TODAY’S QUOTE:

“Jesus was crucified, not in a cathedral between two candles, but on a cross between two thieves.”  –George F. MacLeod

A Simple Reminder

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE:

“The Lord your God. He is the One who goes with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you.” (Deuteronomy 31:6)

TODAY’S THOUGHT

We serve a God who is able to supply every need in our life. Many times the enemy may try to convince us that we are not going to make it. In fact Satan will go to great lengths planting thoughts of negativity and defeat. Yes, life at times can be very difficult, but what an assurance to know that we serve a God who is able to help us in whatever situation we face.

Here is a question I would like to ask you today; has there ever been a day in your life that you have not made it? God has always seen you through every struggle, every heartache, every setback and anything that you have or ever will face. God is faithful to His Word and you can be confident that He is working in your life.

Today, if you are facing a difficult time remind yourself of what God has brought you through in times past. The Bible tells us that there is nothing impossible for Him. What a promise we have. Trust God today with what you are currently facing and allow Him to work a miracle in your life.

TODAY’S QUOTE:

“Confide in God for the little as well as for the great. You will find that He does not fail.”

Charles Spurgeon

Be Available

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE

So we are Christ’s ambassadors, God making His appeal as it were through us.  We [as Christ’s personal representatives] beg you for His sake to lay hold of the divine favor [now offered you] and be reconciled to God.”  (2 Corinthians 5:20 Amplified)

TODAY’S THOUGHT

J. Hudson Taylor was a missionary that God used mightily in China.  In fact, he was the most widely used missionary in China’s history.  It was written that during his 51 years of service in China that at least 35,000 people received Christ and he baptized nearly 50,000.  The success of Taylor’s ministry was his total commitment to the cause of Christ.  He said, “I used to ask God if He would come and help me. Then I asked if I could come and help Him. Finally I ended by asking God to do His own work through me.”

Taylor understood the importance of making himself available to be used by God.  As a young teenager who heard and responded to the call of God on his life, Taylor learned he could trust and obey God and that God would bring forth the increase.  Through his life of dedicated prayer and willingness to be used, God used Taylor in a miraculous way.

Likewise, when we surrender our hearts to God and make ourselves available for His service, we too will fulfill the destiny God has for our lives.  No matter our gifting or talents, God has an unique plan for each of us.  God is at work right now constantly looking for someone who will step up and say, “Here I am Lord.  Use me!”

Today, I encourage you to make yourself available for God’s service.  God desires to use you to be His ambassador to carry out His agenda on earth. It is not your ability that attracts God, it is your availability.

TODAY’S QUOTE:

“God isn’t looking for people of great faith, but for individuals ready to follow Him.”

J. Hudson Taylor

Have A Happy & Safe Memorial Day!

Honoring those who have made the ultimate sacrifice.  We salute the men and women who have served and those who continue to serve our country.  Have a Happy Memorial Day and God bless America!

The Storms of Life

Jesus tells us in John 16:33 that all of us will face times of difficulty in our life. In that same scripture He also tells us not to be afraid for He has overcome the world. No matter how intense your present storm may be, you are not alone. This short video teaching reminds us of the faithfulness of our Heavenly Father.

God Is Already At Your Tomorrow

As we close out the month of May and look ahead to the month of June a thought came to mind – the future.  When we think about the future we can have mixed emotions.  Sometimes we are fearful and sometimes we look ahead in anticipation.  The future is an unknown.  Maybe you have wondered if God is concerned about your future.  Maybe you are struggling with a decision in your life today.

Remember that God is already at your tomorrow and He has a great plan for you.  God is working behind the scenes and is getting all the props in place.  God is sovereign and He knows what He is doing.  Trust Him.  That’s right, trust Him.  To trust God is to very simply take Him at His Word.  God is faithful to His Word.

No matter what you are facing today be reminded that God is in control.  He is up to something in your life. You may not know what tomorrow holds, but Praise God you know the One Who holds tomorrow.
